May 2nd: Nicolas Viollier - From a radical speculation to an alternative profession
As a MDEF alumni of the very first cohort, Nicolas spent the last five years refining what it meant for him to be a radical designer. He shared with us his final intervention, how it grew into a global community and finally his journey into the corporate world, where he continues to educate about the values that are driving him.
May 17: Clément Rames - Designing yourself out
On May 17th, Clément Rames, alumni of MDEF20/21, spoke about the challenges and strategies of designing yourself out. Growing one's project into a business, non-profit, collective or cooperative and acquiring clients or public funding is not an easy undertaking. I personally took away a lot from this talk since many of these questions have been front and center in my brain, but could only rarely be answered in the university context. So it was incredibly refreshing to get some outside perspective from somebody who can share first-hand and personal experiences.
